The Team

Fiona Williamson and Praveen Teleti are both based at Singapore Management University. Fiona is an historian, specialising in colonial era Malaysia, Singapore and Hong Kong. Her particular interests are weather and environment, which is how she got into reclaiming old weather records. Praveen Teleti is a climate scientist, specialising in climate change science and data analysis.

Fiona Williamson has extensively studied historical climate variability and extreme weather events in Southeast Asia. Her work delves into archival records to reconstruct past climates, shedding light on how historical societies recorded and responded to climatic changes. Her research has been pivotal in uncovering the socio-economic impacts of historical weather extremes in the region.

Praveen Teleti brings expertise in data-rescue and historical reanalysis, focusing on extracting and analyzing historical weather observations to inform modern climate models. His work enhances the robustness of climate reconstructions by filling gaps in historical data records, which is crucial for understanding long-term climate variability.
